Real moments, real emotions - they’re fleeting, aren’t they? How often have you looked back on photos popping up in your Facebook memories, smiling and remembering how you felt in that moment. Those photos are often blurry, silly cell phone photos, but what if those moments had been captured professionally? My documentarian approach to wedding photography is based in my own belief that capturing the feeling, the energy behind a smile is just as important as the smile itself.

My philosophy is simple: less posing and more incontrollable laughter…more bear hugs, more impromptu song & dance routines, more forehead kissing, more tear-stained cheeks…more real.

I genuinely care about getting to know my clients and moreover, I care about their experience in front of the lens. Having your picture taken can be scary- trust me, I get it! I want you to feel comfortable and enjoy our time together. That starts with building your confidence in front of the camera, which is why it is my pleasure to offer a complimentary engagement session with each booking. Not only is this a warm-up to your big day, it gives us a chance to hang out and get to know each other before the wedding. It’s just another way I try to show my clients that I’m here to make this experience as fun, exciting, and memorable as I can.

Being invited to photograph a wedding is like becoming a part of a new family for the day. I like to work closely with my clients and their family, so that by the end of a crazy wedding day, they feel secure in knowing that I captured not only the uniqueness of their event, but the uniqueness of their family. So often I leave weddings with an overwhelming sense of gratitude…gratitude for the trust given to me by my clients, gratitude for the love that exists in this mad world, and most importantly - gratitude that I am able to wake up each day and continue to do what I love.
